Allen drew inspiration from the 60’s–70’s Woodstock era, blending retro graphics with a contemporary island twist. The Retro Plumeria was designed as a fresh departure from traditional aloha prints, incorporating a graffiti-like hand that gives it a bold, unique edge.
The biggest challenge of the design was making sure it looked like nothing else. Allen wanted it to feel fresh, modern, and unmistakably OGA.
Allen keeps it old school: sketching each idea twice, first on paper and then on the iPad. This hybrid approach ensures each design stays true to its original vision while benefiting from digital precision.
The OGA team also draws inspiration from the islands themselves. For instance, the Makapu‘u Blue Retro Plumeria reflects the crystal waters surrounding Makapu‘u Lighthouse, giving the polo its signature summer vibe.
From sketchbook to final polo, the Retro Plumeria is all about boldness, individuality, and island spirit.
